Amanda Santo is an active voice teacher, choral director, music educator, and performer. She oversees the Choral Program at Cumberland High School where she directs the Concert Chorus, Clef Singers, Treble Chorus and Men's Chorus. Her teaching responsibilities also include Piano Class, Music Theory, Electronic Music, and Unified Music.   Under her energetic and positive leadership, the Cumberland Choirs have expanded in number and have brought recognition and pride to Cumberland. She has served on the faculty of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School, and  the Community College of Rhode Island.

Ms. Santo earned her Masters Degree from The Hartt School of Music and a Certificate in Vocal Performance from The University of Connecticut. She holds a Bachelors in Music Education, magna cum laude, from Rhode Island College where she was a recipient of the coveted Rita V. Bicho Memorial Scholarship, and upon graduation was honored as the Outstanding Music Graduate of her class. She is a frequent adjudicator and choral festival manager, as well as a member of NAfME, RIMEA, ACDA, and RINATS. 

 

As a soloist, Ms. Santo has recently performed major choral-orchestral works by Schubert, Haydn, Handel, and Rutter with choruses and orchestras throughout the New England area. She has sung with Opera Providence, Salt Marsh Opera, Connecticut Concert Opera, Hartford Opera Theater, and the Ana Livia Opera Festival in Dublin, Ireland.  She is also on the roster of Rhode Island's only professional chamber choir, Collegium Ancora. She is a voice student of renowned vocal pedagogue, Dr. Constance Rock.
